When is the first day of school and what are the school hours?
School begins September 1, 2010. Kindergarten meets each day 8:00-12:00. Classes for grades 1-8 begin at 8:00 and dismiss at 3:00 Monday through Thursday and dismiss at 12:00 on Friday.
Who may enroll?
Scappoose Adventist School welcomes children from any church denomination. Kindergarten students should be 5 years old by September 1. First grade students should be 6 by September 1.
What is the tuition?
All students pay an entrance fee of $375, which includes field trips, swim lessons, winter sports activities, library materials, supplies, student insurance, and a school logo shirt. Kindergarten tuition is $255/month for 10 months. Tuition for students in grades 1 through 5 is $360/month for 10 months. Tuition for students in grades 6 through 8 is $370/month for 10 months. A 12-month payment option is available, but arrangements must be made with the school treasurer by July 1. Families who pay the entire year’s tuition by September 30 receive a discount of $75 for Kindergarten students and $100 for students in grades 1 through 8.
What is the dress code?
Scappoose Adventist School requires school uniforms of navy or khaki cotton twill pants, capris, or walking shorts, and shirts with collars, including polo shirts, dress shirts or turtlenecks of white, navy, light sky blue, or hunter green. Girls may also wear jumpers or skirts of khaki, navy blue or Kirkland plaid. The complete dress code can be viewed online or in the handbook.
What is taught in Bible class?
The curriculum taught in Bible classes has been developed by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and is Bible-focused and Christ-centered. Students learn character-building lessons from stories of the Bible and personal application of Biblical principles. Scripture memorization is emphasized. Students are invited to see Jesus as a loving Friend and an important part of their daily lives.
How do I sign up?
To apply, submit a completed registration form and fee of $50 to receive an enrollment packet and to reserve a space in the classroom. If the classroom is full, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list. Class sizes are limited to 12 in Kindergarten and 20 students in the other classrooms.
