Home & School

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Scappoose Adventist School Home and School Association…also known as HSA or just “Home & School”.  As the parent or guardian of a student at the school, you are automatically a member.  When you see communications from, to, or about Home and School, it involves you.  Many of you may be wondering what exactly Home and School is and how you can be involved.

The Home and School Association’s purpose is to help unite the home, the school, and the church in their endeavors to provide a Christian education for our children. It also gives families opportunities for social interaction, provides parent education, and through fundraising, volunteers, and other means attempts to improve the educational environment for our students. And let’s not forget that we are here to support and encourage our teachers.

There are many ways you can help us accomplish these goals. These include:

The Home and School Association will be meeting monthly throughout the school year to plan events. We try to keep them well-organized and to a minimum so that busy parents can participate. Important decisions that affect our students’ experience at school are made at these meetings. Please plan to attend regularly. This is an excellent place to voice concerns in a casual setting with other parents who may very well have the same concerns. We would also like to bring in speakers at a few of our meetings to talk about pertinent topics for families and welcome suggestions for guest speakers.

If you ever have any questions or comments, please feel free to call or e-mail Jenny Reyes, Home and School Leader at (503) 543-6939, jenny@forhiskids.org.
